The Girls In Navy Blue Releases In Denmark

Same cover. Different country. THE GIRLS IN NAVY BLUE hit bookstores in Denmark this past January. I’m thrilled to see Viv, Blanche, and Marjory finding new readers across the pond. And just this past week, I found out that THE LAST LIGHT OVER OSLO has also been picked up for release in Denmark in January 2025. Thank you to Harper Collins Nordic DK and all my wonderful Danish readers for your continued support.

FCPL Author Event!

I’ll be joining historical fiction authors J’Nell Ciesielski, Eliza Knight, and Sophie Perinot for a fun conversation at the C. Burr Artz library in Frederick County, Maryland on September 17th from 2pm-4pm. We’ll be chatting about our writing, our research, and all things books. I hope you can join us!

Friends of the CCPL Book Event

I had a fabulous and festive afternoon sharing THE GIRLS IN NAVY BLUE with the Friends of the Carroll County Public Library. Thank you to executive director Andrea Berstler for the invitation and for putting together such a wonderful event. And to Jill Gregory of A Likely Story Bookstore for taking care of the book-selling side of the day. It truly was like a conversation between good friends.

Warwick’s Bookstore Event!

Join Christine Wells, Lecia Cornwall and myself on October 11th at 7pm EST for an amazing virtual event hosted by Warwick’s Bookstore in La Jolla, CA. We’ll be chatting about our books, our research, answering your questions, and offering some (virtual) door prizes as we celebrate the release of Lecia’s newest release—THAT SUMMER IN BERLIN. I’ve teamed up with Novel Network, a space dedicated to connecting authors and readers. You can click here to find out more about how to schedule me for a free virtual visit or go to my Book Club page where you’ll find ways to reach out as well as reading guides full of discussion questions, behind the scenes author notes, and even some fancy cocktails to get you in the mood. I’m happy to discuss my books, my writing process, or simply answer your questions.

Signed Author Bookplates!

Books make the perfect gift, and what makes them even more perfect? A bookplate signed by the author! Grab one for SECRETS OF NANREATH HALL, THE WAY TO LONDON, or any of my titles. Just reach out through the contact page with your name, mailing address, and whether you want your bookplate personalized or not, and I’ll pop one in the mail. Book Deal!

I’m over the moon to be able to share with you today’s PUBLISHERS MARKETPLACE announcement!! Daisy Harriman’s amazing story is one that grabbed me from the moment I discovered it and wouldn’t let go. I want to give an enormous shout-out to my fabulous agent Kevan Lyon at Marsal Lyon Literary Agency and the wonderful group at William Morrow for giving me the opportunity to tell that story. I don’t have any release information as of yet, but check back here or on my Facebook/Insta pages for updates.

My June Bookshelf

I can’t believe June is over already! This was a great month for reading. I took advantage of a weeklong vacation and binged on books and sun. BROTHERS IN ARMS was the latest in my Bujold re-read, and as always I wasn’t disappointed. The tone is darker and more complex, but the story is still entertaining as hell. Sticking with sci-fi/fantasy, I grabbed THE RETURN OF THE THIEF by Megan Whalen Turner. The last book in her amazing Thief series, this one had all the crazy twists and turns that are the the hallmark of her books and the unassuming Gen who I might add to my very exclusive list of swoon-worthy heroes. Next up was Beth O’Leary’s THE SWITCH which turned up on a Bookbub list and flew immediately to the top of my TBR pile. After this one, she has definitely become an auto-read for me. Ann Cleeves’s TELLING TALES was a Vera Stanhope mystery that I read in typical mystery fashion—as in, without stopping and in one day. I finished up the month with FINLAY DONOVAN IS KILLING IT by Elle Cosimano, a sharp, funny, sexy read about an author turned accidental assassin.
